Welcome back to the Summer term; I hope you had a lovely Easter and are looking forward, as I am, to the term ahead.

This term we are studying Brazil. I have attached our Topic Web so that you will be able to see what we are covering in the next few weeks leading up to half term and so that you can support and encourage your child’s learning at home. After half term we are keeping with the Brazilian theme, but branching off into Rio and the Olympics. If any parents have been to Brazil and have pictures or souvenirs, please bring these into school. Also if possible, please can you keep hold on any cardboard boxes as these will come in handy with a future art project.

PE this term has changed and will be on Monday and Wednesdays so please make sure that your child has suitable PE kit with them in school on these days. Our focus this half term is on Cricket and Athletics.

We will also have a student teacher with us starting next week, Miss Mason. She is a final year student and will be with us for the next 9 weeks. She was in school the week before Easter and the children are really looking forward to seeing her again.

As normal, spellings and time tables test will be on Fridays. Please help and encourage your child to learn their tables and spelling to read frequently. Homework will be given out on a Wednesdays and to be returned back to school the following Monday.
