Running Club will take place every Thursday lunch time during term time and is open to children from Year 2 to Year 6.
Our aim is to encourage children to enjoy running and understand how running can compliment a healthy lifestyle. We will enjoy lots of fun games and activities over the year as well as incorporating some longer runs of up to 2 miles. Children should bring with them their PE kit and running shoes. In winter they may wish to bring a long sleeve top or jacket and leggings or tracksuit bottoms. It's also a good idea to bring a bottle of water. Children with medication for conditions such as asthma should bring along their inhaler.
Over the course of the year, children will have the opportunity to represent their school in a number of athletics, cross country and orienteering events and Running Club is a great way for children to prepare and enjoy learning how they can set goals and improve their performance.
Occasionally we may need to cancel running club due to factors such as inclement weather or the condition of the school field and children will be informed on Wednesday morning.
