Class 1 Remote Learning

Dear Blencathra Children and families,

From our previous time in lockdown when schools were closed things have changed hugely, as have the expectations or requirements on families. The Government has now stated that due to the amount of time some children have missed due to CV19, it is now expected that children complete all the activities which are provided for them if they are having to spend time self-isolating.

Daily activity plans will be uploaded with the activities for your child to complete. We now expect that all children complete the set work and then either a photograph or a scan to nhorner@penruddock.cumbria.sch.uk (Mon - Wed + Thursday PM) or ljackson@penruddock.cumbria.sch.uk (Thurs AM + Friday).

We will then be able to mark the work and return any feedback or next steps to you.

Any resources that may support you and your child with the activities set will be uploaded separately with each daily plan.

We anticipate having Google Classrooms up and running very shortly. This will make the setting and returning of work much easier.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch via the contact form on the Class 1 class page on the website.

The Class 1 Team really appreciate your support and thank you for working with us to support your child's learning. Hopefully these difficult times will come to end at some point but until it does thank you for working with us. Hopefully we can weather this storm together and make the best of a difficult situation for the happiness of our wonderful children.

Kind Blessings,

Mrs Natalie Horner and Mrs Lauren Jackson - Class Teachers.

Mrs Tania Calvert, Mrs Wendy Guy and Mrs Annice Wilson - Class Teaching Assistants.

Blencathra Class Team!

Blencathra Class letter to parents 19.03.20

To all Blencathra Class and families,

The team send their blessings to you all, may you all stay safe and well.

Each week, a weekly overview plan will be uploaded with suggested activities for your child to complete at home. We do not expect that the children would complete every activity, we always find it best to give more than less. Please pick and choose the ones that suit your child and the needs of your family.

You will find the work is separated on a star into the different year groups. There is a star for EYFS (Nursery and Reception) and then one each for Year 1 and 2. Within these files you will find all you need to complete the tasks set on the overviews. There are also fun idea for the children to carry out too.

If you have any questions, help or support, please do not hesitate to get in touch via email. We are always at the end of an email to give guidance, messages of support or just a quick hello. We would also appreciate you keeping in touch with us to let us know how you are getting on. Please send us photographs or videos of what the children have been doing. We would love to see these.

Thank you for your help and support. Kind regards, Mrs Natalie Horner, Mrs Lauren Jackson and the Class 1 Team smiley
