Blencathra Class Homework!

Reading every day for Reception, Year 1 and 2.

Year 1 'heart words' (CEW) spellings on Thursday.

Year 2 'heart words' (CEW) spellings on Wednesday and Year 2 maths homework on Friday, alongside times table work.

Reading in Blencathra Class 1 2020-21

With the current climate, how we organise home readers will change for the time being. The children will keep their book bags with them at their seats. We will change their books regularly and the books which come back into school will go into a basket for a period of time. Once they have been quarantined the books will then be returned to the shelves for use.

Over the lockdown period, we have been reorganising our books into an order which is linked to the child's phonic ability. The books are still within a coloured group but they are now split into phonic phases. Your child will also bring home alphabet, phoneme, digraph, trigraph or word cards to learn depending on their gaps.

PE in Blencathra Class

PE sessions will take place outside either on the playground or on the school field. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit. Our timetabled days are Tuesday and Thursday but this will be weather dependant and therefore flexible.
